Positive and Null Results

Science doesn't only move forward through success. It advances just as meaningfully through what doesn't work. Yet for too long, the publishing landscape has favored positive results, leaving null findings in the shadows. At NudgEd, we're breaking that paradigm.

We believe it is the responsibility of the scientific community to communicate the full picture, what worked and what didn't. Null results are not failed science. They are the foundation upon which future researchers build, the signposts that prevent others from walking the same dead ends, and the honest record that every discipline deserves.

That's why we've introduced a sister article model. When you submit your work to NudgEd, you're invited to publish both your positive and null findings as companion papers. Each is assigned its own DOI, each given equal visibility, equal exposure, and an equal opportunity for citation. Your successful and unsuccessful experiments stand side by side, with the same scholarly weight.

So whether your results confirmed your hypothesis or challenged it entirely, whether your experiment succeeded or taught you something unexpected along the way, submit both. Get published twofold. Get cited twofold. And contribute to a more complete, more honest scientific record.
